Dr. Phil Shaves Trademark 'Stache on "Oprah"
Dr. Phil McGraw practices what he preaches and on "Oprah" he proved that change is healthy when he shaved off the signature moustache that he's had for almost 40 years.
The "Queen of Daytime TV" brought "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Friday to ring in the 10th anniversary of "O" The Oprah Magazine - and to surprise her viewers with Dr. Phil's transformation.
Dr. Phil, a longtime friend and colleague who's been heavily endorsed by Winfrey, was the one shocking the audience on stage this time, however.
Winfrey had professional barber Carl Cwiok from the highly regarded The Art of Shaving to take off the self-help king's moustache.
"Shaving off Dr. Phil's iconic mustache live on "Oprah" was exciting. I'm happy we could give him the perfect shave from The Art of Shaving,"
Cwiok told CBSNews.com. "I think Dr. Phil looks great!"
Dr. Mehmet Oz was on hand to ensure that there weren't any medical mishaps.
To pay homage to Mother's Day, Winfrey had new mom, Christina Aguilera perform as well as actress Cybill Shepherd and her daughters, Ariel Oppenheim and Clementine Ford, who also took part in a "Mother Daughter" fashion segment.
