"Downton Abbey" star Sophie McShera may join "Cinderella"

A mini "Downton Abbey" reunion is set for Disney's latest retelling of the classic "Cinderella."

Sophie McShera, who plays feisty kitchen maid and assistant cook Daisy Mason, is in negotiations to play a wicked stepsister in the Kenneth Branagh-directed, live-action film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Lily James, who has also appeared on "Downton," has already been cast in the titular role, alongside Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother and Richard Madden ("Game of Thrones") as the prince.

McShera will join Holliday Grainger to play the two mean stepsisters, Drisella and Anastasia, who are constantly ridiculing and torturing Cinderella until she is rescued by a fairy godmother (a role still yet to be cast -- may we suggest Mrs. Patmore, perhaps, to add a third "Downton" addition?).

The film is reported to begin shooting this fall in London.
