Don Young Shells Out $262K For Lawyers

I meant to post something on this last night, but it's already attracting notice in several places - Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska) spent $262,138 on lawyers last quarter, according to his June 30 FEC report. Talkingpointsmemo makes note of it here.

Young has  been rumored to be under federal investigation on two fronts: first, he had significant ties to imprisoned former lobbyist Jack Abramoff, and secondly, the New York Times ran a June 7 article on how the Alaska Republican a $10 million earmark into a highway bill that benefitted a big donor.

The NYT was following up on earlier stories by Florida newspapers.
