Doe, A 'Dear'

It's been said that dog is man's best friend. But in Dover, Tenn., a man's best pal is his DOE ... named Lucky.

Abandoned as a newborn fawn, and sick, Lucky was nursed back to health by Carl Coleman, who found her near his farm.

She became quite close to Carl and to Dixie, the dog.

In fact, Carl says he doesn't think Lucky will stray far from the farm, even though she is free to do so. He says: "I guess she thinks she owns ... this place." Just in case she does roam, Lucky wears a collar so that hunters will know she is tame.

Correspondent Dan MacDonald of CBS affiliate WTVF reports an amazing story of a man, a deer, and an unusual friendship.
