Do Movie Reviews Matter Anymore?
A lot of people have been asking that question lately, following the record-breaking performance of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" at the box office. The film, which received a number of bad reviews, earned $258.4 million in its first 10 days and, as of Wednesday, had taken in $280,215,929, making it a bonafide hit in the eyes of many.
So, what happened? Was it an anomaly, or, does it signal trouble for film critics, and their reviews?
