Timothy Roosevelt Boles Maricopa County Attorney's Office

(CBS/AP) PHOENIX - Police say 51-year-old Timothy Roosevelt Boles, a man who is already serving a 333-year sentence, now faces more charges for a previously unsolved child sexual abuse case.

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office says DNA analysis link Boles to the 1991 sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

DNA evidence collected at the crime scene wasn't analyzed until last year when Phoenix police detectives discovered a match in the FBI's national DNA database.

Boles submitted a DNA sample last September to try to prove his innocence in a 1988 sexual assault which he was convicted.

Boles is serving time for prior burglary, kidnapping and other sexual assaults.

The newly filed felony charges include kidnapping, sexual abuse, sexual conduct with a minor and child molestation.

Prosecutors say Boles could get another life prison sentence if he's convicted.
