Dispute leads to half-mile ride on car hood
A Los Angeles-area gas station attendant is in a coma after a confrontation with a customer led a harrowing ride on the hood of the customer's car.
On Friday night, Jorge Grimaldi tried to stop the customer from stealing something, Grimaldi's daughter, 15, who didn't give her name, told CBS Station KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.
To try to keep him from driving off, Grimaldi stood in front of the man's red Camry.
But the man drove the car into Grimaldi, who latched onto the hood, and hung on - for a half-mile, before falling off and suffering a severe head injury.
The incident at the gas station was caught on surveillance video.
Police are looking for the driver.
"My dad is a great guy," Grimaldi's daughter told KCBS through tears. "He didn't deserve this. He's not a bad person. ... What kind of a person would do this?"
