Disney exec. asst. going nowhere: Bonnie Hoxie gets home confinement for selling company secrets
(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - What did Donald Duck know and when did he know it?
Bonnie Hoxie won't be making any trips to Disneyworld - or "land" - any time soon. That because Hoxie, the former assistant to Disney's head of corporate communications, schemed with her boyfriend to sell secrets about the company's finances, and was sentenced Tuesday to four months of home confinement.
Hoxie, of Los Angeles, was sentenced in federal court in Manhattan. She pleaded guilty in September to wire fraud, conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud.
Prosecutors say she fed nonpublic information such as Disney's quarterly earnings last year to her boyfriend, Yonni Sebbag. He tried to sell the inside tips by sending anonymous letters to 33 hedge funds and other investment companies.
Most of the firms that received the offers, including some in Manhattan, notified the FBI.
Sebbag was sentenced previously to more than two years in prison.
