Disney Dresses Down ... A Little
Walt Disney World is loosening up the conservative dress code of its theme park cast members, but just a little.
That doesn't sound revolutionary, reports CBS News Correspondent Peter King, but then again, most companies haven't stuck with the same squeaky-clean employee dress code for decades the way Disney has.
"A couple of years ago, back in 2000, we started to allow mustaches for men. That was a big change for our company," said Disney's Melissa Valiquette
Full facial hair is still a no-no for cast members, but there's another relaxation of the dress code.
"Men, whether in costume in the park or in professional attire, are now permitted to wear cornrows," Valiquette said.
But no beads, and cornrows must be neatly braided. Women's earrings can still be no larger than a quarter, but now, they can really go to town with their shoes: Open heels are OK — but only with pantyhose.
