Digitize Your Documents with Pixily

pixily.jpg
Pixily turns your paper documents into electronic ones, then stores them online for easy searching and sharing. The only catch: You have to ship your documents to the company for scanning.

I love the idea of a paperless office, but it takes work. You need a decent scanner and lots of time to scan and organize everything. Pixily handles those chores for you, and therein lies its appeal. Just stuff a bunch of documents into a prepaid envelope or box, then mail it to Pixily. The company scans the stack, adds it to your online account, then ships everything back to you.

Within your account you can organize and search your documents, share them with others, and download them in PDF format if you need local copies. You can also upload any digital documents you may have.

If you want to take Pixily for a spin, a free account affords you 200 pages' worth of online storage. However, you'll have to pay for shipping: Only some of the paid plans include free postage. But if you're drowing in a sea of paper and want someone else to handle the heavy lifting of digitizing everything, Pixily might be well worth a few bucks per month.
