2nd woman charged in illegal silicone butt injection death

DALLAS- A second salon worker has been charged with murder after a woman died from illegal silicone injections to expand her buttocks. Denise Rochelle Ross, 43, was held Thursday on $45,000 bond, according to Dallas County court records.

Wykesha Reid's February death from pulmonary silicone embolization, associated with cosmetic silicone injections, was ruled a homicide earlier this week.

Both Ross and Jimmy "Alicia" Clarke, who was charged Tuesday with murder, initially were charged with practicing medicine without a license and freed on bond, according to court records. Clarke remains free on bond.

Ross and Clarke illegally injected Reid with silicone on Feb. 18, an arrest affidavit says. Clarke said Reid later returned to the salon "and said she was not feeling well and wanted to lay down," according to the affidavit. Clarke allowed Reid into the salon, and later left the business, locking the doors and leaving Reid inside for the night. The next morning Clarke arrived at the salon and called police after finding Reid deceased. Clarke reportedly did not know what happened to Reid.

Detectives found Reid, who'd bled, on a massage table, the affidavit said. Her vehicle was parked outside of the salon. Attorneys for both defendants did not immediately return messages Thursday.
