Death Of Star's Son Still A Puzzle

An autopsy performed on the son of "I Dream of Jeannie" star Barbara Eden yielded inconclusive results and toxicology tests will be required to determine the cause of death, a coroner's official said.

Ansara, 35, of Covina, was found Monday night "lifeless" in his truck in Monrovia, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, said Monrovia police Sgt. Tom Loy.

"There was no information or visible indications of trauma or any struggle," he said. "At this time there does not appear to be any foul play."

The results of the routine toxicology tests will be available in four to six weeks, said Scott Carrier, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

The bodybuilder and aspiring actor was planning to be married Sept. 1 at a wedding his mother was planning, said Eden's longtime publicist, Gene Schwam.

Ansara's father, character actor Michael Ansara, has appeared in scores of films and television shows, including "The Greatest Story Ever Told," "Star Trek" and the 1950s series "Broken Arrow." He and Eden were married from 1958 to 1973.

Ansara appeared with his mother in an episode of her show "Harper Valley PTA" TV series in the 1980s and in the TV movie "Your Mother Wears Combat Boots."
