Deadly shooting of teen, 15, brings Cleveland's homicides to 105

CLEVELAND -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old in front of a Cleveland food store Sunday afternoon, bringing the city's homicide number up to 105 this year, reports CBS affiliate WOIO

The county medical examiner on Monday identified the teen as Sheron Tyler of Cleveland. Police say Sheron died at a hospital after being hit multiple times in an apparent drive-by shooting just before 5 p.m.

Police have not made any arrests.

Data from the medical examiner show that 18 people under age 21 have been fatally shot in Cleveland this year. A 5-month-old girl, a 3-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy were fatally shot within a recent four-week span.

Cleveland has seen a 40 percent rise in gun homicides this year compared with the same period in 2014, records show.
