Darren Aronofsky and Rachel Weisz Split

NEW YORK (CBS) Director Darren Aronofsky and actress Rachel Weisz have split.

The couple was together for nine years, but never married.

Reps for the former couple told TMZ on Monday, "Rachel Weisz and Darren Aronofsky have been separated for some months. They remain close friends and are committed to raising their son together in NYC."

Weisz and Aronofsky will seek joint custody of their son, 4-year-old Henry Chance, sources told the website.

Aronofsky has directed films including "The Wrestler," "Requiem for a Dream" and "Pi." His upcoming film"Black Swan" opened the 2010 Venice Film Festival in September and received strong critical praise, particularly for star Natalie Portman. Weisz has starred in films including "The Mummy," "The Constant Gardener" and "The Fountain."

TMZ reports that Weisz has been linked to actor Daniel Craig for months. The two worked together in February and March of 2010 on the upcoming film "Dream House."
