Danny McBride, Nick Swardson talk "30 Minutes or Less"

(CBS) -- Although they haven't known each other for a long period of time, actors Danny McBride and Nick Swardson come off as though they've been the best of friends since childhood.

At least it appeared that way when they sat down for an interview with CBSNews.com at the Ritz Carlton in Manhattan to discuss their latest comedy, "30 Minutes or Less," their first on-screen collaboration.

Throughout the course of our interview, McBride, who stars in HBO's hit raunchy comedy series "Eastbound and Down," and Swardson, who is frequently cast in films starring Adam Sandler, traded barbs in a manner similar to a pair who were quite comfortable with each other. If you're not familiar with their style of comedy, we will warn you that McBride and Swarson can get lewd from time to time.

CBSNews.com: How did you two prepare to be this villainous duo? [McBride and Swardson portray a pair of dim-witted antagonists who strap a bomb to Eisenberg's character's chest so that he will rob a bank for them] Did you spend time together beforehand?

Swardson: We actually went on a legitimate couple's honeymoon.

McBride: Yeah, we went to Thailand. We rode elephants.

Swardson: Sony funded a full honeymoon for us. We got couple's messages.

McBride: Yeah and went parasailing. And, there, we kind of talked a little bit about the movie. But not much, we didn't want to make it weird or anything.

Swardson: We talked about raising kids.

McBride: But not in a weird way. And then, after we completed the friendship training camp. We did this for real. We did a dry run. We kidnapped a dude. We put a vest on him. We made him rob a bank. And it was a good way to kind of see where the improv would go.

CBSNews.com: Aside from the comedy, there's really a lot of action here. Was it tough filming those scenes? I saw some of the behind-the-scenes footage and it seems you guys really got in there with the car chases. What was that like?

Swardson: We wanted it to look accurate. I mean Danny and I are really big film buffs and, you know, it always takes you out of it when you see something that looks fake. So we wanted to kind of man up and do our own stunts. Unlike Jesse and Aziz who are completely CGI'd the whole movie. [He's joking]

McBride: Yeah, we actually did a lot of Jesse and Aziz's stunts as well.

CBSNews.com: Nick, [Danny] bullies you in the movie. Does he bully you in real life?

Swardson: Yeah.

McBride: I make him give me his lunch money...

Swardson: One time, I was really hungry and I had just sat down for lunch. And Danny took my food and threw it on the floor.

McBride: [Mocking] Look at Swarsdon....Haha.

Swardson: I was like, I really am hungry Danny. And he just took the whole salad [and] stuck it in his butt cheeks.

McBride: Yeah, and you [ate] it. And it was gross.

Swardson: I was hungry. I need nutrients to live, Danny.

CBSNews.com: You guys didn't even have to act [for this movie.]

McBride: No, we were in Grand Rapids [where the film was shot] on vacation.

Swardson: They added are characters in the movie just because they saw us blowing up stuff and thought it would be good.

"30 Minutes or Less" is now playing in theaters nationwide. We also spoke with McBride and Swardson's co-stars, Oscar-nominated actor Jesse Eisenberg and "Parks and Recreation" star Aziz Ansari, watch that interview here:
