Daniel Radcliffe goes horror in "The Woman in Black"

(CBS) You know what's creepy? Children in period costume, a room full of abandoned toys and a deserted home in the marsh. Guess what! "The Woman in Black" has all three!

Pictures: Daniel Radcliffe

The film also has Daniel Radcliffe, taking a distinctly non-Harry Potter and non-"How to Succeed in Business" turn. Of course, each scene in this trailer seems recycled from lots of other horror movies, but perhaps that's because these images have been so effective before.

There's the aforementioned children, toys and house. There's also a fire and a well-known actor making a different career move. And then there's a kid providing the voiceover, which adds cheap eeriness.

And don't forget what has become a well-worn horror cliche: The evil person/creature/thing at the center of the film walks right up behind the hero as he stares out a window. The movie is based on Susan Hill's much-admired story of the same name.

Still, try not to shiver. "The Woman in Black" comes out Feb. 3, 2012.
