Songs like Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, Last Dance, I Will Survive, The Locomotion and The Macarena can get almost anyone up and moving.
Don't like any of those songs? Well, you probably could find a few tunes you like if you had, say, 100 to choose from.
Coincidentally, VH-1 has come up with a master list of the 100 Greatest Dance Songs that is bound to contain some of your favorites.
VH-1's Rebecca Rankin tells CBS News how they came up with it.
For the answers, VH-1 went straight to the experts—the hottest deejays, songwriters, producers, and even the artists themselves and asked them what the 100 greatest dance songs of the modern era are, and here's what they said.
Generally speaking, Madonna's music, Ricky Martin's She Bangs, Christina Aguilera's Come On Over make you want to get up and dance.
Specifically, what is the number one dance song of the modern era?
According to the survey, Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive, that disco-era anthem, survived the test of time to rank as the greatest dance song of them all, beating out such party favorites as and Michael Jackson's Don't Stop Till You Get Enough, Madonna's Vogue, The Bee Gees' Stayin' Alive. Each of those songs also made the list.
In fact, the songs on the list span four decades, from Ray Charles' 1959 hit What'd I Say to Cher's 1999 smash Believe.
Over half of the 100 greatest were released in dance music's golden age, the 1970s. Here's the top 10:

You can hear the songs beginning Monday night at 9 p.m., ET, during VH1's 100 Greatest Dance Songs, hosted by singer/choreographer Paula Abdul, whose song Straight Up makes the list at number 81.
