(CBS) There's no surer sign that child star Dakota Fanning is growing up than the latest honor she has added to her resume: homecoming queen.

For the second year in a row, the 16-year-old "Breaking Dawn" actress has won that title at North Hollywood's Campbell Hall Episcopal High School, where she's a senior.

According toPeople magazine, Fanning was given the honor on Monday; football player Henry Aleck, also a senior, was homecoming king. People published a photo of the two together in which Fanning is wearing a tiara and sash and holding a bouquet of red roses.

The Georgia-born teen star has been acting since she was 7 and got her break in 2001's "I Am Sam" with Sean Penn playing a mentally disabled father.
