Daffodils
Last September, as a response to the World Trade Center disaster, a Dutch company, B&K Bulbs, and the city of Rotterdam donated a million daffodil bulbs to New York City. The object: to have a ribbon of yellow throughout the city in remembrance of those we lost.
This gift began the biggest gardening effort in the city's history...and a lesson: 10,000 volunteers + one million bulbs = Hope. CBS News Sunday Morning Anchor Charles Osgood reported March 31.
