Crafting a Job Search That's Worth Your Career

Last Updated Sep 14, 2010 5:13 PM EDT

You know you're good at your profession; after all, you've been honing your skills for years on the job. So how come your job search is such an ordeal?

That's the question TheLadders CEO Marc Cenedella and I address in our new book, "You're Better Than Your Job Search." Our thesis: Most people aren't great at job searching because they only do it a few times in their career. Furthermore, the technology and rules of engagement have likely changed since the last time you were in the market.

Everyone's situation is different, but the rules of the road are common to every successful job search. (Thanks to CBS MoneyWatch's own "Ask the Experts" for a chance to stop by the studio and talk about the book!)

To support the Sept. 21 release of "You're Better Than Your Job Search," Marc and I will be hitting the road for our first book tour. We'll talk about the process behind a successful search and take questions about how you're managing your career.

Here's a list of our appearances. We hope to see you there or to hear where you'd like us to visit!
