Connecticut School Shooting: Nurse talks at scene of Conn. school shooting (VIDEO)

(CBS) NEWTON, Conn. - A nurse at Sandy Hook Elementary School described to CBS News a conversation she had with a police officer about the mass shooting that left at least 26 people dead Friday morning.

The nurse, who was at the Newton, Conn. elementary school at the time of the shooting, said she spoke to a police officer who said it was "the worst thing he had ever seen in his entire career."

She went on to note the many parents who were told by authorities that their children were killed this morning. "They thought that they were still alive," she said.
