SHELTON, Conn. -- A Connecticut man is charged with murder in his wife's death after turning himself in, reports CBS affiliate WFSB.

Officers responded to a home in Shelton, west of New Haven, at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a sudden death.

Upon arrival, police found the body of 52-year-old Lisa Infante. Investigators said they discovered the death was a homicide.

Police on Monday said they were looking for her husband, 53-year-old Thomas Infante, who they considered a" strong person of interest" and who later turned himself in.

Police say the couple had been going through a divorce, and allege Thomas Infante shot the woman during an argument.

They reportedly been married 27 years.

Shelton police and the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Division are investigating. Officials removed a number of firearms from the home Monday, reports WFSB.

Thomas Infante was held on a $500,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
