Computers In The Classroom

Lots of schools want computers in their classrooms to run programs and to let kids use the worldwide computer hookup called the Internet, or simply the Net. Many people think those connections help kids learn better.

"I think it's important because it's faster instead of going to the library and looking for the books that you need," one kid said.

No one has proved that kids who use computers do better in school. In fact, some people think computers may get in the way of a kid's most important job.

But other people, including Vice President Al Gore, say kids needs an Internet connection in every classroom.
