Complete Guide to Recycling Pretty Much Anything

The days of tossing old batteries and laptops into the nearest trash can are long gone. But do you actually know what to do with all the waste that your home and office generates on a continuous basis?

There are so many ways to recycle your old gear that it can be a little overwhelming. Thankfully, there's a handy reference guide you can use to figure out what to do with your light bulbs, computers, CDs and DVDs, fire extinguishers, and more.

Be sure to bookmark How to Recycle Anything, which is an A to Z guide to what to do with almost every conceivable kind of waste product.

For example, did you know that crayons can be recycled? Send them to the National Crayon Recycle Program, which melts down crayons and reforms them into new ones.

What about old electronics? Send your old MP3 player to Recycleforbreastcancer.org (they will even send you a prepaid shipping label).

Curious what you should do with old FedEx shipping envelopes? That one is easy -- paper FedEx envelopes can be recycled -- there's no need to pull off the plastic sleeve.

And that's just the beginning. My only complaint with this resource? There's no index or table of contents, so you need to click through all 7 pages to find what you're looking for. To keep things simple, I printed the whole thing out, which I will someday recycle appropriately.
