"Community" set to return in February

"Community" fans, rejoice: The show officially has a new premiere date.

The Greendale Community College gang will debut its fourth season on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. ET, NBC announced Tuesday.

The cult-favorite sitcom was originally scheduled to premiere on Friday, Oct. 19, along with "Whitney," but the network chose to postpone their return dates ("Whitney" is now scheduled to air on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, replacing the canceled "Animal Practice).

"Community" stars Joel McHale, Alison Brie and Yvette Nicole Brown all shared the news with fans via Twitter. McHale and Brown both referenced the "That's October 19" video the show released earlier this month, poking fun at its premiere delay:

The "Community" return date was just part of NBC's announcement of its midseason schedule changes. Here are some other highlights:

• "The Voice" will begin its fourth cycle on March 25-26.
• "Smash" moves to Tuesdays for its second season, beginning with a two-hour episode on Feb. 12.
• The new drama "Deception" (formerly "Infamous") is set to debut on Monday, Jan. 7, at 10 p.m. ET. "Revolution, which currently occupies that time slot, will go on hiatus in November and return on March 25.
• Freshman comedy "1600 Penn" will air on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. ET beginning Jan. 10. ("Parks and Recreation" will be moved to the 8:30 time slot.)
• "The Biggest Loser" will begin its new season on Jan. 6, and "The Celebrity Apprentice" returns on March 3.
