Columbine Arsenal Revealed
The final report will most likely reveal that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold acted alone in placing explosives at Columbine High School in Colorado, reports Correspondent Rick Sallinger of CBS Station KCNC-TV in Denver.
Some 60 explosive devices were recovered following the shootings at Columbine.
Speculation ran high that Harris and Klebold may have preplaced many of the bombs in the school the night of the prom.
Klebold had attended the prom with his date Robyn Anderson. Investigators believe he may have had keys to enter other parts of the school and so the opportunity was there on prom night.
But Jefferson County Sheriff's Department Division Chief John Kieckbusch says that they have found nothing to indicate that the bombs were brought into the school on prom night.
Kieckbusch says it appears all the bombs were brought into the school on Tuesday April 20th - the day of the shootings.
He says of the 60 or so bombs, about half were placed in the school and the other half were in the cars of the two gunmen - some rigged as booby traps.
The largest bomb was made out of a propane tank and placed in the cafeteria. It did not explode.
Other devices included explosive carbon dioxide cartridges, pipe bombs, and molotov cocktails. The explosives were taken to a firing range and detonated for safety.
After that the debris was examined by the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms. No fingerprints were discovered to indicate that anyone else aided Klebold or Harris in bringing the bombs into the school.
