Collaborate, Delegate, Direct, and Share with Wizehive

Distributed and remote teams are increasingly popular, but it's hard to keep those kinds of workgroups in sync. If you're in such a group - and you need a better way to manage projects with lots of disconnected people, then I have just the thing for you. Wizehive lets you share files, manage projects, track tasks, and collaborate via online workspaces.

I found Wizehive really easy to get into. You can create multiple workspaces, with each workspace dedicated to a project, group, or activity. You can invite a different group of folks to each workspace, and use that virtual work area to have threaded conversations, iterate on tasks, and share files. You can view the activity within each workspace or "pull back" and manage an all-up view of all your workspaces together.

Perhaps the coolest part of Wizehive is that you don't have to interact with the service via the Web. If you prefer, you can send messages to Wizehive via your e-mail client or Twitter, or even using a desktop client based on Adobe Air.

Up to three people can use Wizehive for free and take advantage of 50MB of storage. After that, you can add 5 more users for $8/month and 3GB of storage for $5/month. There are other plans as well, including a Small Business plan for $39/month (which features 10 users and 3GB of storage). [via Download Squad]

Wizehive is a cool service, but online collaboration is a big net. Here are some other collaboration options we've run across recently:
