Clinton Heads to Maine

BANGOR, MAINE -- With the economy in Maine a great concern for voters, its no surprise that Hillary Clinton will focus on job growth and raising the middle class standard of living during her visit. Clinton flew cross-country from Washington state into snowy Bangor late last night in advance of Maine's caucuses on Sunday.
In this ongoing nomination process, candidates are having to tweak their campaign message from stop to stop. In Washington state, the focus was health care, in Virginia the issue of immigration was a focal point.
Everywhere Clinton goes, she is having to tailor her message to that particular audience. Last night in Spokane, Washington, Clinton took a sharper tone toward her opponent Barack Obama, it remains to be seen if she will continue to hammer away at him while in Maine.
Clinton's visit to Maine marks her first official visit as a presidential candidate. With the nomination process in flux, candidates are crisscrossing the nation visiting states scheduled to vote in the coming days. Maine has 24 delegates at stake, and the Clinton campaign believes they can potentially win here, given her Super Tuesday win in nearby Massachusetts.
Clinton will travel later tonight to Richmond, Virginia where she and Barack Obama will attend a Democratic Party dinner before that state's Feb. 12 primary.
