Christina Aguilera to Sing at the Super Bowl

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) Black Eyed Peas, you have company.

Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Texas on Feb. 6. The Black Eyed Peas are providing the halftime entertainment for the sporting event.

This is an NFL encore for Aguilera, a five-time Grammy-winning singer, who was part of the halftime show during the 2000 Super Bowl.

The NFL and Fox made the announcement Monday.

"I have been performing the anthem since I was seven years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," the five-time Grammy award winning singer-songwriter said in a statemen on the NFL website. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."

Other stars to have sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl include Carrie Underwood, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey and Beyonce Knowles.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Green Bay Packers at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, for the NFL title.

The 30-year-old pop singer, who has been performing since her day son "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, made her movie devut in December in "Burlesque."
