Chinese Go Crazy Over "Potter"

Chinese-language publishers say they've printed more than 1.8 million copies of the final "Harry Potter" book.

One executive says every new "Harry Potter" edition has sold about 1.6 million copies in mainland China, and that final one is expected to post similar sales numbers.

A publishing house in China says it has issued 1.1 million copies, but declined to provide sales figures.

A Taiwanese publisher says it has shipped 700,000 copies to book stores in Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Publishers also say they're taking strict measures to curb piracy. China has long been the world's leading source of illegally copied goods, but executives say the new "Potter" books are printed with anti-piracy watermarks on the first page.
