Charles Diverts Attention from Kate and William

Kate and William are keeping the world waiting again -- this time for the details on when and where their marriage would take place, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Phillips.

But some left-over business from another royal marriage -- the one five years ago between Williams' father Prince Charles and the then Camilla Parker-Bowles -- has filled the information void. Then, because of misgivings about Camilla, who had, after all, been the other woman in Charles doomed marriage to Diana.

Charles let it be known that, when he became king, Camilla would only be Princess Concort, and not Queen Concort, the normal title of a King's wife. Now, though, in an interview with NBC News Charles seemed to be re-considering making Camilla Queen after all.

"We'll see, won't we?" Prince Charles told NBC News' Brian Williams. "That could be."

Charles' musings have provided a distraction while plans for the next big wedding remain on hold.

After the will-they-or-won't-they suspense of their eight-year courtship, the delay is no surprise.

Taking their time to announce their wedding plans is very much in keeping with what we know about William and Kate. They do not rush into things as William has said, this isn't a race.

The smart money is still on Westminster Abbey as the site for the ceremony.

Despite the sad memories of William's mother Diana's funeral there.

As for the style of William and Kate's wedding, look for something perhaps a little less dramatic than the fabled fairy-tale turned folly of William's parents' wedding at St Paul's Cathedral.

"The word fairy tale was uttered by the archbishop Runcie at the wedding of Charles and Diana and it hung over them like the moment at which the bad fairy appears at your wedding and lays a curse upon you," said David Starkey, royal historian.

Everybody is stuck with it, "apart I think from Kate Middleton, who exudes a kind of straight forward common sense," said Starkey.

Whatever they do, they'll do in their own time.
