(CBS/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - Attorneys for Casey Anthony, the Fla. mother charged with killing her 2-year-old daughter, say the comments she made to detectives after her daughter was reported missing shouldn't be allowed at trial since she wasn't read her Miranda rights.
Anthony's attorneys argued in a pretrial hearing Monday that the detectives never told her that she didn't have to answer their questions about her missing child, Caylee, while she was in police custody.
The detectives have argued that Anthony, 24, wasn't in police custody and volunteered to submit to their questioning. Circuit Judge Belvin Perry did not immediately issue a ruling.
The 24-year-old has pleaded not guilty in the death of her daughter and says a babysitter kidnapped Caylee.
The toddler's remains were found in a wooded area of Orange County in December 2008. She was reported missing in July of that year.
Anthony's trial is scheduled for May.
