Judge Belvin Perry had warned the people in court for Anthony's murder trial that graphic images of her daughter's remains would be shown. He asked anyone who might get queasy to leave during a short recess before prosecutors called a crime scene investigator to the stand, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.

Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy, decided to leave the courtroom at that time.

The state called Orange County Sheriff's Office crime scene investigator Jennifer Welch. She testified that she was called to the area where Caylee's remains were found blocks away from the Anthony family home on Dec. 11, 2008, according to the station.

Welch said she was instructed to photograph the scene, and jurors were shown images of the surrounding wooded area before they were shown photographs of a skull, which was later identified as Caylee.

The state then called Orange County sheriff's Deputy Edward Turso to the stand.Turso went to the wooded area in December 2008 and met with Roy Kronk, a meter reader who said he found the human remains. He then had Kronk write a statement about the incident while he roped off the area with crime tape.

Defense attorney Jose Baez then asked Turso to describe the wooded area.

"There was a lot of vegetation. I can't tell you if there was a fallen tree right next to the skull," Turso said. "I focused on the skull and the garbage bag that was right next to it."

During opening statements, Baez had accused Kronk of placing Caylee's remains in the wooded area months before his final call to authorities to report finding them in order to obtain reward money. Kronk had called the Sheriff's Office several times in August 2008 to report finding a skull in the area, but the deputy who examined the scene did not find anything at that time.

Earlier Thursday, Casey Anthony's brother, Lee, was called to testify again. He was questioned about computer usage on July 16, 2008, the same day his sister was first arrested. He said he made the search on the computer for Zenaida Gernandez-Gonzalez after his sister told him Caylee had been kidnapped by her nanny with the same name.

Prosecutors say there was no such nanny. A woman by the same name has filed a civil suit against Casey Anthony.

Anthony, 25, could be sentenced to death if convicted of first-degree murder. She has pleaded not guilty and the defense claims Caylee accidentally drowned in the family's swimming pool.

The Casey Anthony case was recently reported on by "48 Hours Mystery."
