Stephen Shaw told jurors that he analyzed hair found in Anthony's trunk and samples taken from 2-year-old Caylee Anthony's skull, which was found in a wooded area near the Anthony family home, reports CBS affiliate WKMG.
Shaw testified that he saw further evidence of decomposition on the hairs taken from the child's skull than on the hair found in Anthony's trunk.
Judge Belvin Perry ruled that a Power Point presentation of Shaw's findings could not be shown to jurors because the defense had not been shown full color images, which were clearer than the black and white images the defense had seen ahead of time. But, Perry ruled that Shaw's testimony could stand, reports the station.
It is expected that Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony, will again be called to the stand this week, and the state could complete its case by the end of the week.
Prosecutors believe Anthony suffocated her daughter with duct tape. The defense contends the toddler drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool.
Caylee was not reported missing for 31 days beginning in June 2008. Her remains were found in a wooded area near the Anthony home in December 2008.
Anthony, 25, has pleaded not guilty to killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. If found guilty, Anthony could face the death penalty.
