Carry Presentations on Your iPod with ThinkFree Office Show, iPod Edition
Remember ThinkFree Office Portable Edition, the office-suite-on-a-flash-drive? Say hello to the iPod offshoot: ThinkFree Office Show, iPod Edition. Unfortunately, this isn't the full suite of office apps, just the presentations module. But it sounds pretty cool: Plug your iPod into any PC and you can create, edit, and show PowerPoint presentations. When you're done, everything stays on your iPod; the software leaves no trace on the PC. Here's an overview from the developer:
- ThinkFree Office Show, iPod Edition uses the iPod as a USB hard disk. Once installed, it loads directly onto the memory of a computer from the iPod. The user can then utilize the host computer's screen and keyboard to create or edit the slides.
- Slides, after being edited, are saved to the iPod and not to the hard drive of the host computer.
- An "Export to iPod" option converts slides to JPEG format and uses Apple's iTunes software to move the images to the iPod's photo library. These JPEG images are used for viewing slides on the iPod or running slide shows by connecting the iPod to an external monitor or projector.
ThinkFree Office Show, iPod Edition is available for Mac and Windows systems. It costs $29.95, but you can get a trial version here. [via Office Tweaks]
