California man accused of shooting co-worker in high-rise building

(CBS) LOS ANGELES - Police are questioning a man suspected of shooting a co-worker Thursday at a real estate company in Los Angeles, CBS Los Angeles reports.

LAPD Sgt. Dino Caldera said the suspect allegedly walked into a high-rise building housing Venture Commercial Realty and shot his co-worker in his office. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The suspect surrendered as soon as police arrived, Caldera said. Authorities are trying to determine what motivated the alleged attack.

Police briefly locked down the building and released employees soon after the suspected shooter was arrested.
