Calif. lawyer, Robert Pearman, charged with causing $100K in damage while partying at Vegas hotel suite

(CBS/AP) LAS VEGAS - A California lawyer accused of trashing his pricey Las Vegas hotel suite in a real-life replay of "The Hangover" now faces criminal charges for the alleged romp.

A police report says the nearly 6,000-square-foot apartment at the Encore hotel was in "total disarray" March 30, with food spattered on the carpet and walls, shards of glass on the floor and furniture overturned.

Police say 45-year-old Robert Pearman appeared drunk when he said he took "full responsibility" for the destruction and told them to "let my people go."

Cleanup and repairs are estimated at more than $96,000. Pearman faces a charge of malicious destruction of property.

According to CBS affiliate KPHO, the hotel, Encore, gave Pearman several opportunities to pay for the damage but he refused.

He declined to make any comments.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Pearman's lawyers blame a third party for the damage.
