(CBS) CHICAGO - FayRoy, a San Francisco band on tour in Chicago, lost its van and all its instruments to thieves, CBS Chicago reports.

The band, which is made up of four male musicians, says their 1997 maroon Chevy conversion van was stolen sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Tuesday, the station reports.

"Everything was in the van," said Zack Hoag, who plays guitar and sings in FayRoy. "Everything. We had six guitars, three amplifiers, synthesizers, a drum set. Everything that a four-piece band has."

Hoag says the band now regrets leaving all their valuables in the van.

"That's the risk you take when you're in a big city with a lot of expensive stuff. You've got to keep an eye on it constantly. We definitely learned a lesson."

Other than the robbery, Hoag says Chicago has been great.

"It's a good spot to have your van stolen, I guess, if you had to choose," he told the station.

A tavern in Milwaukee, where FayRoy last played, was nice enough to throw a fundraiser for the band Wednesday night, CBS Chicago reported.

It's unclear what the group will to do next.

Maybe there's a "band aid" concert in its future?
