INGLEWOOD, Calif. (CBS/AP) - Once again, gunfire has silenced a member of the hip-hop community.

This time the victim is M-Bone of the rap group Cali Swag District - the group that had a hit last year with the song "Teach Me How to Dougie."

The 22-year-old rapper, born Montae Talbert, was killed in a  drive-by shooting as he sat in a car outside a liquor store in Inglewood, Calif., near Los Angeles.

Authorities say as M-Bone sat in the vehicle Sunday night, another car pulled alongside, shots were fired and the rapper was hit twice in the head. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities say the motive for the attack is unclear. But a publicist for the group blames the shooting on "a random act of violence."

Cali Swag District's "Teach Me How to Dougie," featuring fellow rappers C-Smoove, Yung and JayAre, was number 28 on the Billboard charts last year.

Monday morning C-Smoove tweeted, "Ma life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye rip mbone."
