Simon Cowell was a last-minute, no show at a pretty costly photo shoot, which jump started rumors claiming that the popular "American Idol" judge was acting like a diva.
On "Extra," Simon Cowell clears up the internet rumors that he acted like a diva and cancelled a photo shoot at the last minute at a cost of $50,000.
Cowell spoke to "Extra" saying that he was indeed ill with a viral infection, and was actually laid up for four days, missing work for the first time in six years.
In addition to canceling the photo shoot, Cowell was unable to attend a press conference for his hit show, "The X Factor."

Spears and Federline have been wrangling for months over custody of their sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James.
Federline has temporary custody.
Spears attorney Sorrell Trope declined to comment after the hearing. Federline's attorney was still in court and not immediately available for comment.

David Chase Due On Witness Stand In "Sopranos" Plot Dispute
After three days of sitting quietly at the defense table, Chase will offer his version of his dealings 12 years ago with a former New Jersey municipal court judge who claims he supplied ideas for the hit HBO series and never got credit.
At issue is whether the services Robert Baer provided during Chase's development of "The Sopranos" pilot should be compensated, and if so, their value.
Baer, also an aspiring screenwriter and former prosecutor, arranged meetings with experts during a three-day tour of New Jersey mob sites in 1995.
Chase's attorney, Peter Skolnik, said he expected to question his client for at least two hours Tuesday morning.
Also expected to testify are an expert witness, Jake Jacobson, and Dan Castleman, the Manhattan district attorney who provided consulting services to Chase after Fox Broadcasting declined to pick up "The Sopranos" and Chase needed a "true Mafia expert" to help him as he rewrote the script. HBO later picked it up.
Baer testified that he declined Chase's offer of payment several times but said Chase agreed to "take care of him" if the show became a hit.
Chase said he was "keenly aware of a 'mob presence' in New Jersey" because he grew up in the Garden State.

Rihanna: Jay-Z's Not My Fella, 'Ella, 'Ella
Rihanna continues to shoot down rumors that she hooked up with Jay-Z, her boss - and Beyonce's boyfriend.
"This is what really happened," the 19-year-old singer tells Allure magazine. "He and my management, they have each other's contact information. I went to (the New York club) Pink Elephant, and he came by. All of a sudden, the next day, I'm seeing that we were kissing and hugging up each other."
The 38-year-old rapper is president of Rihanna's record label Def Jam, a division of Universal Music Group. He signed the Barbados-born sensation three years ago.
"You can't even go out with a friend who's a celebrity and have a good time without people making (bleep) up," Rihanna says in the magazine's January issue. "Well, at least he's good-looking, right?"
Of Jay-Z's Grammy-winning gal pal, Rihanna says: "She's Beyonce, and I'm (his) new protégée. When we see each other we say "hi." We're not enemies, but we're not 'friends' friends."
Pamela Anderson Files For Divorce - 2 Months After Wedding
It seems like only two months ago that Pamela Anderson was aglow with happiness over her quickie Las Vegas wedding to Rick Salomon.
Actually, it was.
But the 40-year-old ex-"Baywatch" beauty has filed for divorce from her 38-year-old husband after just two months of marriage.
Anderson cited irreconcilable differences in papers filed Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The documents were first obtained by the celebrity Web site CelebTV.com.
Anderson and Salomon wed Oct. 6 during a break between the 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows of "Hans Klok's The Beauty of Magic" at Planet Hollywood resort, where Anderson was starring as a magician's assistant. The couple separated less than 10 weeks later, on Dec. 13.
Salomon is best known for making a sex videotape with Paris Hilton, his girlfriend at the time, and was previously married to actress Shannen Doherty. Anderson was previously married to singer Kid Rock and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee.
