Buzz Briefs: Pam Anderson, Kanye West

Pam Sets The Record Straight

E!'s "Daily 10" interviewed actress Pam Anderson who discussed rumors around her personal life from her latest divorce, to her alleged pregnancy. She also chimed in on Britney Spears and "Blond and Blonder" co-star Denise Richards.

When asked about her divorce from Rick Salomon, Anderson said "I wish him the best. It's a can of worms. Big, fat juicy worms, but worms."

When the pregnancy question arose, Anderson said "No more kids. No more kids."

Anderson also commented on the Britney Spears' recent meltdown.

"I feel bad. I just hope that, you know, people do better, and especially parents. We need to do the best we can and just hope that somehow it all works out, you know, for the kids."

Anderson has recently become chummy with co-star Denise Richards.

"She's just sweet, beautiful, fun. She's a mom too, so we had a lot in common. We were like two peas in a pod, two wacko girls anyway on and off the set. It was fun."

According to E!'s "Daily 10," the two stars apparently share a kiss in the film - one that was not written into the script.

"I just grabbed her and kissed her on the lips," Pam explained while laughing. "I don't think it was planned - just happened. It was pretty good, I guess. Nothing special. Sorry Denise!"

Pam's interview is the Number 4 story on "Daily 10," tonight, 7:30 p.m., ET/PT on E!

Coroner's Report Doesn't Pinpoint Cause Of Death For Kanye's Mom

2The exact reason why Kanye West's mother died shortly after undergoing plastic surgery could not be determined but there was no sign of "surgical or anesthetic "misadventure," according to a coroner's report released Thursday.

Donda West, 58, died Nov. 10 at a Los Angeles-area hospital, a day after she had breast reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction procedures.

The report noted coronary artery disease and multiple post-operative factors that could have played a role, but said the exact contribution of each factor could not be determined.

"The final matter of death could not be determined," the coroner's office said in a statement.

Shakira's Music Crosses Over Successfully Into the Movie Biz

3Shakira received a Golden Globe nomination for best original song for "Despedida" from the movie "Love In The Time Of Cholera," based on Gabriel Garcia Marquez' novel.

She told Jay Leno this week that she was supposed to be in the movie, but turned it down.

"Gabriel Garcia Marquez called me, and he wanted me to be in the movie, but there was some nudity involved, and my parents wouldn't like it at all," Shakira explained. "I said 'thank you, but no thank you.' He didn't know anything about (the nudity), but as soon as he knew he said 'no way, your parents would kill me.' And he's right!'"

This is the first time that Shakira has created a song for a soundtrack.

Weinstein Co. Anticipates Making A Deal With Striking Writers

The Weinstein Co., one of Hollywood's largest independent film producers, says it expects to reach a deal with striking Hollywood writers that will allow the company to resume production.

The company was anticipating agreement with the Writers Guild of America would be signed by the end of Thursday, Weinstein Co. spokesman Matthew Frankel said.

The deal would be the second reached with big-screen producers. United Artists reached an agreement with the guild Monday to resume production.

The guild previously agreed to a deal with Worldwide Pants, the company that makes David Letterman's late-night TV show.

Brothers Harvey and Bob Weinstein founded Miramax, which became part of the independent film movement in the 1990s and has produced a number of high-grossing movies.

Mischa Barton Admits "She's Not Perfect" Regarding Her DUI Mistake

4According to E! NEWS, Ryan Seacrest spoke exclusively this morning on his Los Angeles based KIIS FM radio show with actress Mischa Barton from the set of her new movie "Homecoming," about the actress' much reported recent DUI arrest on December 27.

Barton told it like it is by saying for the first time that "obviously, I'm 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case and I'm really disappointed in myself. I don't know what to say about it, except that I'm not perfect and I don't intend to do something this stupid again."

The 21-year-old actress was stopped by police in West Hollywood, Calif. after she was observed driving her white Range Rover erratically as she headed home following a night out on the town with friends.

"It was the end of the night and I just wanted to get my car home," Barton explained to Seacrest, stressing that she hadn't been driving at any other point in the night.

Not only was Barton driving while intoxicated, but she was driving without a driver's license, which she told Seacrest was the result of growing up in New York, "the land of people who don't have to drive."

Her court date has been scheduled for February.

Michelle Rodriguez Released Early From LA Jail

Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez has found her way out of jail.

Authorities say Rodriguez was released from a Los Angeles County women's jail in Lynwood on Wednesday after serving 18 days of a 180-day sentence for violating probation in a drunken driving case.

She was released early under a program that deals with jail overcrowding by allowing nonviolent female inmates to serve as little as 10 percent of their sentence.

The same thing happened two years ago when Rodriguez served just one day of a 60-day jail sentence for probation violation.

Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore says as many as 50 women a day are released early because of jail overcrowding.

Salma Hayek Teams Up With UNICEF To Help Moms In Need

New mom Salma Hayek also has a new job: spokeswoman for the "One PackOne Vaccine" program, which will provide tetanus shots for needy mothers and their infants in Africa and Asia.

For every pack of Pampers diapers sold in the United States and Canada between April 1 and June 30, the company will donate funding to UNICEF for one maternal or neonatal tetanus vaccine.

"In our own small way, this is an opportunity for moms like me here in North America to help other mothers on a global level," Hayek, 41, said in a statement Wednesday.

Hayek's daughter, Valentina Paloma Pinault, was born in September.

The Pampers-UNICEF partnership has already provided more than 25 million vaccines to moms and babies in developing countries, where tetanus kills 140,000 infants and 30,000 women each year, according to UNICEF.

Steven Seagal Can Now Shake His Ties To The Mob

Steven Seagal and his former business partner have agreed to settle a long-standing legal dispute that included allegations of contract breach and Mafia extortion, an attorney said Wednesday.

The actor and Julius R. Nasso worked together for years, forming Seagal/Nasso Productions and producing movies including "Marked for Death," "Out for Justice" and "On Deadly Ground."

But the two had a falling-out, and Nasso sued Seagal for $60 million, accusing the actor of backing out of a four-movie deal.

Nasso served a year in federal prison starting in 2004 after admitting he plotted to have the mob shake down Seagal.

Seagal testified at the racketeering trial of Peter Gotti, brother of the late reputed mob boss John Gotti, that Gambino crime family enforcers demanded that Seagal keep working with Nasso and pay him $150,000-a-film.

Seagal and Nasso agreed in an out-of-court settlement that Seagal would pay Nasso an undisclosed sum of money and write a letter supporting Nasso's application for a pardon, said Robert Hantman, an attorney for Nasso.

"After six years of litigation, any misunderstandings between Mr. Seagal and Mr. Nasso have been resolved, and (Nasso) looks forward to his future and making movies," Hantman said.

"I Love New York 3" Not Scheduled To Air On VH1

Tailor Made apparently still loves New York.

Despite an Internet rumor about a breakup, a VH1 spokeswoman told The Associated Press on Wednesday that reality TV couple Tiffany "New York" Pollard and George "Tailor Made" Weisgerber are still together following the conclusion of "I Love New York 2" and there are no plans for a third season of the popular VH1 reality dating show.

New York selected the 32-year-old retail planner instead of actor Ezra "Buddha" Masters during the Dec. 17 season finale, which was watched by 5.43 million viewers.

A Jan. 7 report posted on MediaTakeOut.com cited an anonymous source claiming that New York's "relationship with Tailor Made ended shortly after the reunion show was taped and that she wants another season of 'I Love New York' so that she could find the man of her dreams."

New York, who was originally a contestant on VH1's "Flavor of Love," recently guest starred as herself on FX's "Nip/Tuck" and appears in the upcoming film "First Sunday" starring Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan.

James Brown's Possessions To Be Auctioned To Pay Off Taxes

James Brown's possessions will be appraised and auctioned, in part to pay taxes his estate owes, court-appointed trustees said Wednesday.

Attorney Adele Pope would not say exactly what items would be auctioned or how much they were worth. She also refused to say after a hearing how much the estate owed.

Brown died in Atlanta in December 2006, throwing into turmoil the future of his trust, which might include music rights and his 60-acre Beech Island home in western South Carolina. The total value is still unclear.

His will called for the items to be divided among the singer's six adult children. But Tomi Rae Hynie, who claims to be Brown's fourth wife and the mother of another of his children, has contested the will.

Hynie argues she is entitled to half the estate. The children also are contesting the will, which was signed 10 months before Brown's death. The trustees have asked Brown's children and Hynie to provide a list of items they don't want auctioned.

An attorney for Hynie, a former backup singer for Brown, said some automobiles were given to her and shouldn't be auctioned.

"It's easier to divide money, and we don't know who will be getting what," Robert Rosen said.

Wife Of Paramount Boss Brad Grey Files For Divorce

The wife of Paramount Pictures boss Brad Grey has filed for divorce after 25 years of marriage.

Jill Grey cited irreconcilable differences in her Superior Court filing Tuesday. The Greys have an 18-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter.

Brad Grey became chairman and chief executive officer of Paramount Pictures in 2005, tasked with reviving Paramount after the studio struggled through several box-office flops under previous leadership.

His producing credits include the "The Larry Sanders Show" and "The Sopranos." He also produced films such as "The Wedding Singer," "Scary Movie" and "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."

Grey has been questioned as a witness by the FBI and testified before a federal grand jury in the case against Anthony Pellicano, the private eye accused of wiretapping celebrities and others to help clients in legal disputes.

Grey has denied any wrongdoing and a spokeswoman said he is not a target in the investigation.

Prosecutors have been interested in two lawsuits filed against Grey in which his attorney, Bert Fields, used the services of Pellicano.
