Marcia Cross Reveals "Housewives" Secrets

It's true: "Desperate Housewives" will flash-forward five years.

Marcia Cross, who plays domestic goddess Bree on the ABC comedy-drama, told AP Radio in a recent phone interview that a flash-forward narrative device will offer viewers a glimpse into the future lives of the Wisteria Lane gang.

Spoiler alert: Read no further if you don't want to know what happens to some of the central characters.

Cross said her character makes "a big leap."

"She's gone out into the world and she's become a bit of a success," the 46-year-old actress said.

When asked if that success has anything to do with the catering business Bree started with her neighbor Katherine (Dana Delany), Cross replied, "It does have to do with the business. Bree definitely has made a name for herself."

And Bree - the embodiment of preppy style - will change her look.

"Let's put it this way, the (hair) flip has died and I'm so happy about that," Cross said.

She also revealed that Eva Longoria Parker's character, Gabrielle, "has had some children."

When asked what becomes of the troublesome Kayla (Rachel Fox), who is Tom's (Doug Savant) daughter, Cross said, "She hightails it out of town or is hightailed out of town."

The season finale of "Desperate Housewives" airs Sunday.

Sarah Jessica Parker Is No Slave To Fashion

2Sarah Jessica Parker says she's not a slave to fashion like her "Sex and the City" character Carrie Bradshaw.

"I am a mother, wife and working woman in the first place, clothes do not play such a big role in my life than they do in Carrie's," the 43-year-old actress told The Associated Press after the Berlin premiere of her upcoming film based on the popular HBO series.

"And there is no favorite designer or accessory as there is Manolo Blahnik for Carrie - there are so many talented and exciting designers, I could not possibly choose one favorite," Parker said Friday, sporting a white petticoat with a black girdle and black stiletto heels.

The Berlin premiere came as part of a whirlwind courtship of Europe where the TV series, which ran from 1998 to 2004, still has an enthusiastic fan base.

Joining Parker on the red carpet Thursday night were co-stars Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis.

"Sex and the City" opens May 30 in the U.S.

Eva Longoria Parker Plays Dress Up In Cannes

3Eva Longoria Parker gets to play dress-up at the Cannes Film Festival - and she doesn't even have to pack her own suitcase.

"My bag is packed when I come because my stylist thinks about every event we have, every interview, every red carpet - everything is already planned and dresses are fitted, and I just put on what somebody gives me," the 33-year-old actress told Associated Press Television.

Longoria Parker, who is hitting the red carpet for L'Oreal, is having a Versace moment at Cannes. But when she's at home with her husband, San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker, she's hardly a fashion diva.

"I actually put on what's clean," she said Thursday. "Usually I'm in sweats or jeans. Tony's favorite outfit is me in jeans and a T-shirt."

Longoria Parker stars on ABC's "Desperate Housewives."

Judge Denies Media Access To R. Kelly Trial Documents

4A judge has denied a motion from news organizations seeking immediate access to sealed court records and transcripts in the R. Kelly child pornography trial.

Judge Vincent Gaughan also refused to lift a gag order forbidding attorneys to talk about the case.

The judge says he's not trying to inhibit the press. But he says the time isn't right to release the information and keeping it secret is the only way to guarantee a fair trial.

Kelly has pleaded not guilty to charges he videotaped himself having sex with an underage girl.

Jury selection in the R&B singer's trial finished this week. Opening arguments begin Tuesday.

Ellen DeGeneres To Wed Girlfriend

5Ellen DeGeneres is putting the California Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage into action - she and actress Portia de Rossi plan to wed, DeGeneres announced during a taping of her talk show.

DeGeneres was taping the episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Thursday, the day California's high court struck down state laws against gay marriage, and it was to air Friday, a person close to the production said.

The person, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

Citing the high court's ruling, DeGeneres said she and girlfriend de Rossi ("Ally McBeal," "Arrested Development," "Nip/Tuck") would be getting married.

De Rossi, 35, who was in the studio, and DeGeneres, 50, were applauded by the audience attending the show, the person close to the production said.

Calls and e-mails late Thursday to DeGeneres' publicist were not returned.

Dennis Rodman Charged With Domestic Violence

Prosecutors in Los Angeles have charged former NBA star Dennis Rodman with domestic violence for allegedly hitting his girlfriend at a hotel last month.

A spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney says Rodman was charged Wednesday with spousal battery, brandishing a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness. The charges are misdemeanors.

Rodman, who's 46, was arrested April 30 after Gina Peterson called hotel security. Police say she suffered injuries to her arm.

A spokesman for Rodman says he had had too much to drink when he got into an altercation with Peterson and says the couple are still dating.

Rodman's attorney says, quote, "We look forward to a successful resolution of this misdemeanor matter."

"American Idol" Tour To Start July 1

With more than 50 stops, the tour is scheduled to begin July 1 in Glendale, Ariz., and end in September in Tulsa, Okla. A Toronto concert is included, with tickets for that concert on sale Friday.

Besides finalists Cook and Archuleta, other contestants taking part are Syesha Mercado, Brooke White, Carly Smithson, Chikezie Eze, Jason Castro, Kristy Lee Cook, Michael Johns and Ramiele Malubay.

The season finale of "American Idol" airs Wednesday on Fox.

Taylor Hicks To Join Cast Of Broadway's "Grease"

Taylor Hicks is going from "Idol" to "Angel."

The "American Idol" alum will join the Broadway cast of "Grease" on June 6, playing Teen Angel in the revival of the popular musical.

The gray-haired singer - whose "Idol" fan base was called "The Soul Patrol" - said he plans to add "soulful flavor" to his performance of "Beauty School Dropout." The flashy role, he said, is "a classic fit for a classic performer."

"It's a big number, and, you know, I've made some pretty grand entrances before," Hicks told The Associated Press on Thursday. "And this one is probably the grandest entrance I've had in my career."

Well, besides "Idol." Hicks, 31, took home the title in the fifth season of the top-rated Fox show - the biggest stage on television.

The Alabama-born crooner's run ends Sept. 7. He'll be the latest "Idol" to hit Broadway, following runs by season-three winner Fantasia Barrino ("The Color Purple") and a host of also-rans including Clay Aiken ("Spamalot"), Diana DeGarmo ("Hairspray") and Constantine Maroulis ("The Wedding Singer").
