Buzz Briefs: Kim Cattrall, Holly Hunter
Kim Cattrall Gives Fur Coat To Homeless
"Sex and the City" star Kim Cattrall apparently doesn't believe in wearing fur, unlike her on screen alterego Samantha Jones.
Knowing that "Sex and the City" influences the style of many, actress Kim Cattrall chose to donate the fur she wore in the new movie to PETA. The white fur is splattered with red paint after activists confront Samantha in one scene.
Fans wishing to follow her example can call PETA's "Fur Away" hotline 888-FUR-AWAY (888-387-2929).
The two coats that she donated will be given to homeless people in the fall.
"When Kim Cattrall found out about PETA's program, which has donated thousands of furs to the homeless, she asked that her coats from 'Sex and the City' be used for that purpose," a spokeswoman for PETA told The ShowBuzz "PETA believes that since they have no other means of staying warm, the homeless are the only ones with any excuse for wearing fur."
Holly Hunter Gets Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame
Director Steven Spielberg and tennis great Billie Jean King were among those on hand Friday as Hunter's star was unveiled on Hollywood Boulevard.
Spielberg directed Hunter in the movie "Always" and the actress portrayed King in a 2001 TV movie.
Hunter has won an Academy Award for her role in the 1993 movie "The Piano" and two Emmys for TV movies.
She called it "an unbelievable honor" for her star to share the same boulevard with those of Spielberg, Marlon Brando and other movie greats.
No Felony Charges Against Farina In Airport Gun Incident
The district attorney's office said Friday it reviewed the case and declined to file charges on May 23. Spokeswoman Jane Robison says there wasn't enough evidence to charge Farina with a felony.
Instead, the case was referred to the Los Angeles city attorney's office, which will decide whether to file misdemeanor charges that carry a lighter sentence.
Farina was arrested for investigation of carrying a concealed weapon two weeks when a gun was found in his carry-on luggage at Los Angeles International Airport. Farina apologized and said he forgot the weapon was there.

Steven Tyler Rehabbing Foot In "Safe Environment"
Tyler said the surgeries were to correct long-time foot injuries resulting from his physical performances as the singer for the blues-rock band.
"The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but it would require a few surgeries over time," Tyler said in the statement. "The 'foot repair' pain was intense, greater than I'd anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet."
The 60-year-old was known for heavy drug and alcohol abuse in the 1970s and early 1980s, but completed rehabilitation in 1986, after which Aerosmith enjoyed a successful revival.

The drummer for the rock group Hanson is a first-time father.
John Ira Shepherd Hanson was born Tuesday to Zac Hanson and his wife, Kate, at an undisclosed hospital in Hanson's hometown of Tulsa.
The baby boy weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces.
"I am so overjoyed to meet Shepherd," Zac Hanson said in a statement posted on the group's Web site. "There is not an audience or concert that could ever stand up to the feeling of meeting your baby for the first time."
Zac Hanson, 22, and his brothers Isaac, 27, and Taylor, 25, make up Hanson, best known for its 1997 hit "MMMBop."
Braxton's Vegas Shows Canceled
A Las Vegas hotel has announced that the rest of Toni Braxton's scheduled shows have been canceled so the singer can focus on her health.
The show, "Toni Braxton: Revealed," at the Flamingo Las Vegas had been dark since the 40-year-old entertainer was hospitalized April 7 with what hotel officials said at the time was a complaint of chest pain. The show had been scheduled to resume June 6.
Harrah's Entertainment spokeswoman Deanna Petit says she could not comment on the singer's current medical condition. Braxton has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.
Braxton is a six-time Grammy winner for songs including "Un-break My Heart." Her two-year run at the Flamingo Las Vegas hotel is scheduled to end in August.
Cosby Sweaters To Raise Money For Charity
Not everyone can be Dr. Cliff Huxtable, the quick-with-a-quip dad that Bill Cosby played on TV for eight years. But for the right price, you could dress just like him this Father's Day.
Cosby's daughter, Evin, said her mother and father were cleaning out a closet recently when they came across a batch of the sweaters her dad wore when he played Huxtable on NBC's "The Cosby Show" from 1984 to 1992.
"I pounced on these sweaters," she said Thursday, adding she figured they could help a charity named for her brother, Ennis, raise a substantial amount of money.
Now three of them are going up for sale on eBay, with the proceeds earmarked for the Hello Friend/Ennis William Cosby Foundation.
The nonprofit organization, which raises money to benefit educational programs, is named in honor of Cosby's only son, who was about to begin his doctoral studies when he was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997.
The auction is scheduled for June 2-12, with minimum bids set at $5,000.
"The price of what some of these sweaters might sell for could make a big difference in the lives of thousands of children," said Evin Cosby.
