Crawford's younger brother, Jeff, was a patient at the University of Wisconsin Children's Hospital. The boy died of leukemia in 1975 just before his 4th birthday.
Crawford is the honorary chair of Kids with Courage, which had its fourth reunion of childhood cancer survivors Saturday in Madison. She was also part of the three previous reunions in 1993, 1998 and 2003.
The University of Wisconsin says Crawford has been contributing time and money to the UW Pediatric Oncology program for nearly 20 years.
Man Claims Assault By Rapper Eminem
A man has filed a lawsuit against Eminem, claiming the rapper punched him two years ago while they were in the bathroom of a Detroit strip club.
The Detroit News reports Miad Jarbou of Royal Oak filed the lawsuit Thursday in Oakland County Circuit Court seeking more than $25,000 in damages. The lawsuit claims Eminem punched him July 13, 2006, at Cheetah's On the Strip Gentlemen's Club.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, wasn't charged following reports of an incident at the club in 2006.
The strip club is located on Eight Mile Road, the border between Detroit and the northern suburbs made famous by Eminem's hit 2002 film "8 Mile."
Jack White Writes Poem About Detroit
Jack White knows his relationship with the city of Detroit has gotten tense in recent years, so he's trying to make things better through verse.
White has written a poem expressing positive feelings about Detroit, and it was published yesterday in the Detroit Free Press.
Part of it reads, "Detroit, you hold what one's been seeking. Holding off the coward-armies weakling. Always rising from the ashes not returning to the earth."
White tells the Free Press he was frustrated that his thoughts about Detroit were misrepresented when he moved to Nashville two years ago.
He had told The Associated Press in 2006 he left Detroit because he "couldn't take the negativity any more." White now says that was never an expression of his feelings toward Detroit the city, nor its citizens.

Opera Legend Recovering In Hospital After Breaking Both Legs
Opera legend Joan Sutherland is recovering well after breaking both legs June 24 during a fall while gardening at her Swiss home, her agent said Monday.
The 81-year-old soprano is now in a Swiss hospital where she is recovering from surgery and is undergoing rehabilitation. She will likely remain there for up to eight weeks before being allowed to put weight on her legs.
"All is well except I'm sure she's not pleased," said her agent, who had not yet spoken to Sutherland himself.
Sutherland's performance in the difficult title role in a 1959 Covent Garden revival widely is seen as her breakthrough in an international career that lasted until 1991.
ABBA songwriters Say There's No Chance Of A Reunion Tour
Despite the astonishing success of the stage musical "Mamma Mia!," ABBA has ruled out any reunion tour.
Songwriters Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of the Swedish pop quartet told Britain's Sunday Telegraph that ABBA will never perform together again.
Ulvaeus said "money is not a factor and we would like people to remember us as we were. Young, exuberant, full of energy and ambition."
ABBA was one of the biggest bands of the 1970s, with hits including "Waterloo," "Dancing Queen" and "Money, Money, Money." The group also included singers Agnetha Faltskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad.
ABBA split in 1982 but continues to sell nearly 3 million records a year. Last week all four members appeared at the Swedish premiere of "Mamma Mia!," a film based on their hits.
