Busta Rhymes: U.K. Can't Keep Me From Performing
American rapper Busta Rhymes won a court order Friday allowing him to perform at a charity concert in Britain, despite a government attempt to keep him out of the country.
High Court Justice Nicholas Stadlen ruled that Rhymes - whose real name is Trevor George Smith Jr. - could play at London's Royal Albert Hall. The judge said he did not want to interfere with the concert, which is being given for volunteers who earned their tickets by doing four hours of community service.
Immigration officials stopped Rhymes on Thursday at London City Airport, with his promoters saying they cited previous legal trouble in the United States.
In March a New York judge sentenced Rhymes to three years' probation for assaulting his former driver and a fan.
In Britain, authorities initially detained him in an effort to put him on a flight back to Amsterdam, Netherlands, but the High Court ordered his release Thursday and put out an injunction preventing his removal from Britain.
No Felony Charge For Kanye West
Los Angeles County prosecutors say they have declined to file felony charges against Kanye West for an incident in which a paparazzo's camera was broken.
Los Angeles County District Attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons says prosecutors referred the case to city attorneys, who will decide whether to charge West with a misdemeanor.
West was arrested Sept. 11 at Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of felony vandalism after he was captured on video struggling with a paparazzo and breaking a flash on the floor.
West's road manager was also arrested on suspicion he broke the photographer's camera and one belonging to a videographer from the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ.
Erin Brockovich Takes On NYC
The legal crusader portrayed by Julia Roberts in the Oscar-winning film "Erin Brockovich" is now working for a Manhattan personal injury law firm that specializes in asbestos cases.
The real Erin Brockovich signed a consulting contract with Weitz & Luxenberg and will be involved in soliciting cases and investigating claims. Brockovich told the New York Post: "I'm hands-on and they're hands-on so it will be a team effort."
Already the 48-year-old Brockovich has filmed two TV commercials for the law firm seeking individuals who may have contracted lung cancer from exposure to asbestos, the Daily News reported. Brockovich also consults with a West Coast law firm, Girardi & Keese.
Roberts won an Oscar for her portrayal of the environmental activist in the 2000 movie.
The film focused on how Brockovich led a 1996 water pollution case that won residents of a small California desert town a $333 million settlement from a state utility company.

LaBeouf Won't Be Charged With DUI
Actor Shia LaBeouf will not be charged with drunken driving for his involvement in a traffic accident that badly injured his hand, but could have his license suspended because sheriff's officials said he refused a breathalyzer test.
There was "insufficient evidence" to charge LaBeouf with drunken driving, Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said Thursday. She said prosecutors are mulling charges against two other people involved in the July collision, but could not provide further details.
LaBeouf was arrested July 27 after an early morning crash that injured his hand and sent him to a hospital for several days. Sheriff's deputies said later that LaBeouf was not at fault in the accident, which occurred in West Hollywood.
Emilio, Wife Out Of Hospital After Car Crash
Grammy-winning Tejano singer Emilio Navaira and his wife have been discharged from a San Antonio hospital.
A University Hospital spokeswoman said they were discharged late Thursday, a day after their car collided with a truck.
Emilio Navaira has been undergoing rehabilitation since wrecking his tour bus in suburban Houston in March. His agent, Joe Casias, did not return a Friday call for comment from The Associated Press.
He told the San Antonio Express-News, however, that Emilio Navaira suffered no bone fractures but doctors "are watching him very closely."
Casias says the couple was on the way back from rehabilitation at the time of the wreck. Navaira had been taking his rehab sessions in Houston until Hurricane Ike caused him and his wife to return home to San Antonio recently.
After the Houston accident, doctors performed two brain surgeries and repaired an aneurysm in the performer's right lung. His doctors had been encouraged by his quick recovery but have said it is difficult to determine whether he will recover fully.
Known to his fans simply as Emilio, he has released more than a dozen albums with his band. He won a Grammy for best Tejano album in 2003 with "Acuerdate."
Panettiere's Dad: Far From A "Hero" After Battery Charge
Prosecutors say they have charged the father of "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere with misdemeanor battery for an incident in which he allegedly hit his wife.
Alan Panettiere faces up to a year in a Los Angeles County jail if convicted. He was arrested on Aug. 11 on suspicion of striking his wife, Lesley.
At the time, a sheriff's spokesman said Panettiere was accused of hitting his wife three times with an open hand. The 49-year-old was later released on $50,000 bail after the arrest. His arraignment will be held in October at a Beverly Hills courthouse.
Jail records did not indicate an attorney for Panettiere.
Hayden Panettiere plays Claire Bennett on NBC's "Heroes."
Rare Footage of Marilyn Monroe Sold At Auction
Rare film footage of Marilyn Monroe on the set of her 1959 hit "Some Like It Hot" sold at auction Thursday night for 17,500 Australian dollars (US$14,624).
The two-and-a-half minute 8 mm film, which features Monroe goofing around with co-stars Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, was shot by a U.S. naval officer who was invited to the set after Monroe visited his base in San Diego.
The sailor's daughter, who moved to Australia's Victoria state, discovered the film by chance among her late father's possessions.
The footage, which was snapped up by an unnamed collector from Sydney, was expected to sell for between A$20,000 (US$16,721) and A$25,000 (US$20,896).
The film shows Monroe surrounded by sailors at the base and later cuts to scenes from the movie set.
Monroe won a Golden Globe award in 1960 for her performance in the screwball comedy classic. She died in 1962 from a drug overdose.
