Buzz Briefs: Britney Spears, Madonna
Oops Britney Did It Again
Let's face it - it's really not the brightest idea for pop diva Britney Spears to be behind the wheel of a car - considering her track record.
According to TMZ, Spears hit a red Ford Explorer Tuesday afternoon.
The Web site featured a video clip of the moments following the fender bender.
Spears remained in her car and appeared stunned, holding her hand over her mouth as if she was saying "Oops I did it again!"
Her bodyguard got out of the car to talk to the woman behind the wheel of the Explorer. The vehicle then followed Spears' car home. There was no visible damage, TMZ reported.
Madonna Adoption Case Nears Conclusion In Malawi
Alan Chinula said Madonna's legal team and government representatives would be in Lilongwe High Court on Thursday.
The pop star and her husband, film director Guy Ritchie, are not required to be present. Judge Andrew Nyirenda will review two reports by Malawian officials overseeing the adoption of two-year-old David Banda.
"We are confident he will grant the Ritchies permanent custody order," said Chinula.
Chief social welfare officer Simon Chisale wrote two glowing reports, describing Madonna a "perfect mum" for David, who was sickly and malnourished when the singing star found him at the Home of Hope Orphanage. His mother died shortly after childbirth and his father was too poor to take care of him. He has since been with Madonna and her family in Britain.

Nyirenda said in court proceedings in October 2006 that he would automatically revoke the temporary custody order if he was convinced David was being treated differently from the Ritchies' other children, Lourdes and Rocco, or that his human rights were being violated in any way.
Ludacris' Atlanta Alma Mater Honors Him With Mural
"I've always wanted a street named after me, but this is better," the 30-year-old rapper said of the mural, which includes his face overlooking the words "Gym of Dreams."
He was welcomed back to Banneker High School in south Atlanta to participate in a crusade against violence. He spoke at a ceremony Monday honoring a project by students who stuffed a box with more than 1,000 anonymous letters on the topics of gang violence and rape into a black coffin in early February.
The small gym was named for Christopher Bridges, Ludacris' real name. He also received a red-and-white No. 69 football jersey. He graduated from the school in 1996.
"I know a lot of us come from hard times, but it's extremely important that you use your street knowledge and book knowledge to get to where you need to be," he told a crowd of about 2,000.
Ludacris and R&B singer Monica planted two trees on the school's front lawn.
"This is a way to show them how to stay on track," Monica said. "There's a lot of peer pressure out there in the world. But the tree symbolizes a fresh start."
Ludacris won a Grammy for best rap album for "Release Therapy" and best rap song for "Money Maker."
Britney Spears: "How I Increased Your Ratings"
Spears' second guest appearance on "How I Met Your Mother" was first in the adults 18-34 demo, a 7 percent increase compared to last week.
Her appearance added more than 660,000 viewers (plus 8 percent).
Spears reprised her role as Abby on the CBS comedy and she and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris' character) united in their disdain for Ted.
Does Beyonce Have A Bun In the Oven?
Well, there may be an heir to this power couple on the way.
Close friends of Knowles are allegedly saying that the singer is expecting the couple's first child, according to Page Six.
"She has gained a lot of pregnancy weight," a source told Page Six. "When she gains weight, she normally does the Def Jam detox, but not now."
A rep for Beyonce told Page Six, "I don't know if she's pregnant. Let me perform an ultrasound and get back to you."

Drew Barrymore Tries To Track Down Hit-And-Run Motorist
Drew Barrymore can add "sheriff's helper" to her long resume.
The 33-year-old actress was rear-ended Monday in a hit-and-run accident in West Hollywood, Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Kristin Aloma said. Barrymore was not injured. Aloma added that she didn't know the extent of damage to Barrymore's car.
Instead of staying put, though, Barrymore followed the offending vehicle and snagged its license plate number, which she then handed over to sheriff's deputies, according to Aloma.
"It could be dangerous," Aloma said of following someone after an accident.
Still, she emphasized that getting a license plate number is instrumental to tracking down a hit-and-run motorist.
On Tuesday morning though, there had been no arrests in the Barrymore accident.
Barrymore's screen credits include the "Charlie's Angels" movies, "Fever Pitch" and "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial."
Neverland Ranch Foreclosure Auction Called Off
A foreclosure auction scheduled this week for Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch was canceled after an investment company bought the loan.
Colony Capital LLC spokeswoman Caroline Luz said the loan purchase was recently made by Colony and the auction slated for Wednesday was off, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.
In a statement released Sunday by a Jackson spokesman who identified himself as B. Michael, the singer said he was "pleased with recent developments involving Neverland Ranch ... that would allow me to focus on the future."
Jackson had gone into default on the $24.5 million he owes on the 2,500-acre spread in Santa Barbara County. He has struggled to pay his debts in recent years after his financial empire crumbled following his arrest in 2003 on child molestation charges. A jury later acquitted him and he hasn't lived at Neverland for the past two years.

Jackson's attorney, L. Londell McMillan, declined to comment to The Associated Press on Sunday. A call by the AP to Colony Capital was referred to a public relations firm.
Jackson bought the property in 1988 and turned it into a miniature amusement park with rides, including a merry-go-round, Ferris wheel and roller coaster, and a zoo.
Rapper Remy Ma Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison
Remy Ma has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the shooting of a woman outside a Manhattan nightclub.
The state Supreme Court sentence was handed Tuesday to the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Remy Smith, for assault, weapon possession and attempted coercion.
Remy Ma, who could have faced up to 25 years in prison, was teary-eyed as she heard the sentence.
She says last summer's shooting was an accident; an appeal is planned.

Correction officials say they called off her weekend wedding at the Rikers Island jail after the groom - fellow rapper Papoose - showed up with a handcuff key.
Remy Ma's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, denies the key could be used to unlock handcuffs. Papoose isn't charged.
Fisher says the two still plan to wed.
