Bush 'convinced' McCain Can Close The Gap In The Polls

Despite a slip in the polls in recent weeks, Sen. John McCain still has at least one key supporter who believes he can pull out the election.

“The president is convinced that John McCain has still time to close up this race,” White House press secretary Dana Perino told reporters Friday.

“And remember — [Bush] remembers when he was running in 2000 and how far he was down before the election, and he came back to win.”
