Bruce Springsteen unveils "Wrecking Ball" tour dates

(CBS) As promised, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band will be hitting the road this year. The U.S. outing kicks off March 18 in Atlanta, Ga. and currently winds down May 2 in Springsteen's home state of New Jersey. It will also include a stop at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Tickets for some shows start going on sale as soon as Jan. 27.

After wrapping the first U.S. leg, Springsteen will head to Europe for a batch of shows from May through the end of July.

The 2012 "Wrecking Ball" world tour coincides with the release of Springsteen's 17th studio album, "Wrecking Ball," due out March 6. The lead single, "We Take Care Of Our Own," surfaced last week.
