Brooklyn teen allegedly stabbed with scissors over basketball game
(CBS) NEW YORK - A Brooklyn teen was in critical condition Tuesday after a fellow student reportedly stabbed him in the head with scissors during a lunchtime pickup basketball game at the Erasmus Hall High School.
According to the New York Daily News, students say 16-year-old Chevoy Nelson attacked Alfredo Allen after the 15-year-old literally stole the ball from him.
The two teens were reportedly playing basketball in a school gym when Allen took the ball and refused to give it to Nelson.
Students say Nelson punched Allen before finding a pair of scissors and stabbing him multiple times, the Daily News reports.
Nelson was arrested for assault with a weapon, the Department of Education told the Daily News. School sources reportedly said Nelson is emotionally disturbed and a special education student.
