Brooklyn graffiti artist shot to death

NEW YORK -- The New York Police Department is trying to find out who fatally shot a graffiti artist in Brooklyn, CBS New York reports.

Fitzgerald McBride, 46, of Brooklyn, had gunshot wounds to his arm and torso when he was found in his car in front of Interfaith Hospital around 5:20 a.m. Sunday, police said. He had gunshot wounds to his arm and torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police are trying to determine the circumstances and location of where McBride was shot.

The station reported that McBride, who went by the tag name "2 Mean," had a long arrest record for criminal mischief and making graffiti, prosecutors said.

In 2004, the station reported, he was sentenced to up seven years in prison after pleading guilty to criminal possession of a weapon, prosecutors said.
